Shalkh is not informed that even sun is revolving with its entire system around another wider circle. That means Quran is not incorrect if it says that the sun is traveling on a set course. It is just that the focus of Quran and modern science is different but not contradictory.

It appears faith is a disease which can not be cured by science or truth how so ever evident.

The Quran says ‘the Sun is moving’ only because it looks like that from the earth… and not because of the knowledge of the motion of the stars. The proof of Quran*s ignorance is that it NEVER says that the Earth is also moving.

the earth is moving too. Read Quran
“Thou seest the mountains and thinkest
them firmly fixed: but they pass like the
passing of the clouds: (such is) the artistry
of God, who disposes of all things in
perfect order: for he is well acquainted
with all that ye do. (The Noble Quran,
        27:88) “

The Qur’an is the Speech of Allah. Al Aziz Al Hakim. Rabbil Alaameen. So whatever Allah The Qur’an says is The Truth and can never be wrong. And if there is any confusion then we have been commanded to ask The People of Knowledge. And without doubt The People of Knowledge are Human Beings, and they can make mistakes. And but the Qur’an is Allah’s Speech so there are no mistakes.

Before u judge the cleric make sure that he did issued the fatwa and he denounced it… it was denied by him personally ..
I am not a follower of this cleric but I think credibility , honesty are needed these days prior to attaking this guy or any person who stands firmly with his faith , believe

In the Sheikh’s defence, you can see the edit by Memri to make it appear that the Sheikh is a fool. The full picture was not given and in true Memri style, Islam is made to look foolish by clever editing and “translation”.

This is lying at it’s most obvious.

All mullahs are absurd and anti-reason. They want Muslims to get trounced by every civilization on earth. They are against the Quran and the exalted Prophet (PBUH). All their arguments are based on fake Hadith collections, both of Sunnis and Shias.

Even if we consider that the sun runs, the statement is that the sun runs towards a stopping point, which it does not seem to.

The Qur’an commands Momineen (= true believers) that before believing even the revelations of God (= verses of the Qur’an = Ayaat = Signs) they must use scientific methods to verify, confirm and validate the authenticity of those verses. In other words, science is an integral part of Islam (= the Qur’anic philosophy/ideology). You can’t separate science from Deen of Islam (= Divine Way of Safety, Peace and Harmony).

Verse#25:73 of the Qur’an says: “… Alazin Iza Zukiroo Bi Aayaat Rabihim Lam Yakhroo Alaeeha Sumun Wa Umyaanan.”

TRANSLATION: When they are reminded of even the Ayaat (divine signs = revelations = philosophical ideas in the Qur’an) of their Sustainer, they do not fall at them deaf and blind (= with deaf and blind acceptance)”.

I believe in the Qur’an, not in the ill-conceived, illogical, irrational and unfounded interpretation of a so-called “Shaikh” of Saudi Arabia.

Here “do not fall at them deaf and blind” means those who do not turn deaf and blind to divine sign like aayat. It finally conclude in 25:75 that these people will be rewarded with adobe in heaven. Don’t misinterpret it

    Hello Mr. Fatah
There are more than 1000 scientific, historical, moral mistakes found in Islamic texts. These texts are really from divine authorship???

It looks as if Tarek Fatah has nothing else to do but sit idle and propagate bias against Saudi Arabia in whichever way he could. Phobia against Saudi Arabia!

    Hi tarek sir

I had a similar argument one month back here in USA with my class mates from Saudi and Pakistan. We are doing masters of science! And they were of opinions that
    1. Earth doesn’t rotate around sun
    2. Every thing had a life even Rocks!
    3. God had created all creatures for us hence there is no wrong if we use them as per our wish.
    4. Indeed 72 virgins are waiting for Muslims after life if we do good while living.
    5. Kuran is the oldest holy book-I was like really??
    6. We are not evolved from monkeys.
After 1hour of arguments I gave up and said if you guys do not agree on this basic theories why both of you have came here to study?
